We are currently building a deer and rabbit fence on Orcas Island. This fence is approximately 1000 feet. The home owner wishes to keep out the deer and rabbits in order to stop the loss of plants in garden area. Apparently the dear eat as many plants as do the rabbits. To achieve this task we are setting the fence hight at 72 inches and wrapping the bottom of the entire fence with tight mesh wire to keep the rabbits out. We are installing two drive through gates and 3 man gates. The wire mesh will be 4 feet in hight set at two feet on fence and two feet along ground (to keep rabbits from digging under fence). So far we have cut the path and set posts. We will take pictures and comment when we complete this project.
